Thanksgiving/Black Friday

Wow, what a series of events. First thanksgiving was a much needed holiday. I'm so glad I got a couple days off from school, even though I'm still studying. But I made my first turkey. I don't know if this is cheating but I used my slow cooker and got turkey meat. So it wasn't a turkey, just it's meat haha but it was like in the shape of a real turkey... so..... But it turned out great, with the mashed potatoes and gravy, corn and yes jared had to have stuffing (yuck) haha. I'm so grateful I didn't have to eat this delicious meal alone.

Next was black friday. Don't k why we decided to go to Old Navy at 3am, maybe it was the thrill but definitly was not worth it. By the time 8am rolled around we were so grouchy haha. Also the people out at 3am was insane, by the time we left Old Navy at 5am there were line ups everywhere for the 5am openers. These people are insane. Atleast there weren't any deaths this year, thank goodness.  Next year if, IF I decide to go again I will be sleeping till like 3 in the afternoon if I'm planning on enjoying the day. But overall everything was fine, got some boots and mocassins for myself, couple shirts and 2 presents.

Classes are winding down, I only have one more actually class for my radiology courses and probably just a hand full for my other courses. I am busily trying to prepare for finals but its hard. I guess over thanksgiving I will need to read tonnes and prepare. Clinicals are still going great, I only need to sign off on a thumb or finger, and a finger, hand or wrist... I think those were the two. Shouldn't be hard if we get some into the hospital. The only similar thing I saw was a hand which was in ER and was a portable, so kind of hard to sing off on that. I guess the end of next semester I'll be in a orthopedic center so if I need to carry it over I guess I'll have to. Otherwise everything is good. I'm looking fwd. to seeing everyone, my dad reminds me all the time how slow the time has gone by for him, even tho I insist it's actually gone by fast. I can't wait to work on some jewelry FINALLY..... and hang out with the siblings. Also see jared's family. I miss everyone. It can be hard sometimes.... Especially when your missing out on family events. So although I would just love to spend all my time home with everyone... I think I'm gonna have to work for a bit (cross fingers) that they'll actually let me back... seeing I can really only work for like 3 weeks. In which I would only work like 3 shifts a week. Any money would help... it's hard being a broke student. I really wanna spoil myself and Jared, and everyone else, but I guess that'll have to wait untill I'm a workin girl. Anyways, that's me in Cheyenne!!!

LAKERS GAME!!!!!

So glad we ended up making the game. I-80 was closed that morning and Jared got stuck, both of us pretty disappointed and very determined we checked the weather/interstate info every 15 minutes. We ended up missing tip off but we got there and that's all that mattered.

Flu season

         I'm on my second full week of clinicals and it's wearing me out. By golly it's tiring waking up 6:30 every morning for clinicals then classes, clinicals and classes. Just hope this lil flu guy stays away from my home. Jare is starting to cough, let's hope he gets over that before it turns into something else. I think it's infecting people everywhere. Now im debating getting the swine flu shot. I have my flu shot, I just am on the fence bout the other one. Any opinions? Any had it? Not sure what to do.... Or even if it's being offered here... apparantly you have to be old or something to get it. I'll keep you posted.

My New Jacket!!!!

 

This is my new jacket. The brand is Holden, and it's super warm. The color is like a speckled bluey greeny but almost looks grey. It has cute thumb holes so that the snow can't get up into your sleeve, nice pockets that have buttons and zippers underneath. Also cute little clasps that have the h on it. And it has a belt... which isn't in the
pictures. So much nicer than the
columbia one I bought.

Good thing I kept the receipt :)

Two Month Mark...


 I can't believe it. Approx 60 days untill I come home. Where has the time gone? I still haven't filled up my living room with furniture. I guess without cable there isn't much to do in a living room, beside watching a movie I guess. Which doesn't happen. So what do I do? I guess I must be busy with school, and well.... lots of sleeping. I'm such a bear, let me nap and I'm good to go, well and eat. If I don't get fed I can get grumpy. Ask my mom... haha. I just started going back to the gym, mon and wed... and I should now go after clinicals... This would help with the no cable/boardness going on. Well and I haven't even been to the mall lately... Wow, that's insane for me because I love clothes... But the reason being is that I found a new favorite store(s). Yes ROSS and TJ MAXX. Oh my, there is nothing better. I will never shop anywhere else, unless I have to... And I get to see Jared once in a while, and I've made some friends in my program, they are great, except they all live out of town. Boo, well enough ranting... Time to go EAT!! :)

1st Day Of Clinicals

CLINICALS....

  I was good, the night before... having a nice dinner, and an early sleep. What could go wrong... Well, My clinical pants didn't fit. Oh now.. after a cute little meltdown I decided I could wear my navy Wal-Mart pair..... no they weren't my nice expensive purple pair, but it was better than going naked... I woke up early, made some french toast and headed there. Only 20 min early... haha, didn't wanna be late. Got in and met everyone.... they were so nice. Everything I heard prior about the people and that site weren't so appealing. So I'm glad they proved me wrong. I got paired up with a recent graduate from my school. She was great, we did several portables, a couple outpatients and some inpatients. We even got to go up to the surgical suite and watch for a minute. She did the x-rays and I just hung out. Yes it was just like on the t.v. SO COOL. They were doing surgery on someone's spine. I think this might be where i'll wanna end up, we'll have to see. But overall everything was great, I'm so blessed to be able to do this, and it be something I enjoy..

I am so grateful as the summer turns to fall and the weather turns cold that I have a family that warms my heart. I wish I weren't so far from home, so we could share in all the exciting things like, home building and special holidays. It doesn't seem as special without being able to share it with you all. Know I think about you all always.

Plant killer...

Hey Mom, Sorry I killed my first plant, not really surprised.

My plant I bought when I first got here started to die and then I would remember I needed to water it. Haha. So I went in a traded the flower plant and get just a simple plant. It's cute.

I went and bought some water globes today, you know those glass things that hold water and water your plant for you. Ya I figured if there is anyway of me keeping a plant alive, it's this way. Let's hope it works. (Fingers crossed)
